Given that it can be quite risky to go out during the pandemic, a lot of people have been staying at home and ignoring their physical activity. As a provider of home care in El Paso, Texas we often remind our clients that physical activity is crucial not only for their physical health but also for their mental well-being.
Usually, you could go to the gym or probably go on a walk with friends for some physical activity. What are the physical exercises you can engage in at home? For our senior care, we usually recommend the following:
- Exercise with family
You and your family members can engage in walks, living-room yoga sessions, or backyard games. - Get outdoors
Walking, cycling, jogging, and hiking can help you get fresh air while staying safely away from others. - Follow along with online exercise videos
You can have either yoga, dance, strength training, or any other online exercise videos you can follow. - Take a virtual class
If you have financial resources, you can have online fitness classes or training sessions that can help you interact with people in a fun way. - Tackle calorie-burning chores
Chores such as mowing the lawn, working in the garden, or cleaning out the garage, can help build muscles and burn calories.
